Diving Background

Growing up I was mesmerised, like so many, by Jaques Cousteau and wanted to dive and see what he saw too!
After having been knocked back as a teenager with the “Diving is not for girls” line, it was not until I was 26 that I was able to afford myself the opportunity to learn to dive in the Florida Keys.
My Oh My! I still remember that first time I jumped into the ocean on scuba like it was yesterday! It was the most amazing thing I had ever done and a life changing moment.
When I surfaced the first words out of my mouth were “How do I get to do this as a job?” Four years later, after working my way to Divemaster,
I jacked in my job, rented out my house, packed my dive gear and headed off to Grand Cayman where I qualified as an Open Water Scuba Instructor and later a Master Scuba Diver Trainer. Next came the Abacos in the Bahamas, then Watamu in Kenya before coming back home to work for a UK based dive operation.
2017 will be my 20th year as a dive professional,
I’m still going strong and I still absolutely love it! Not for girls eh??? Yeah Right!!
