As divers we are used to regularly practising our diving skills, the EFR (Emergency First Response), CPR and First Aid skill we learn on the EFR Primary and Secondary Course are no exception.
To keep out skill and certification up to date we need to undertake a fresher course every two and half years. This is not only to remind ourselves how to handle an emergency situation, until the emergency services arrive, so your actions could actually help to save the life of a friend, colleague, or even family member. But to learn and simulate the latest best practice guidelines, getting the chance to train using the latest equipment such as electronic defibrillators.
This course is open both to divers and non-divers alike and is a compulsory pre-requisite for the PADI Rescue Diver, Master Scuba Diver, and Divemaster certifications.
