Your adventure at the professional level of recreational diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program. You will work closely with a PADI Instructor, to expand your dive knowledge and fine tune your skills to a professional level. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, qualifying you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.
During the PADI Divemaster program, you will learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You will complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems. You put these new found skills and knowledge into action through an internship which will run over several weeks. During these weeks you will complete a series of practical training exercises including:
- Knowledge Development: 12 topics ranging from dive theory to assisting student divers in training
- Confined water skills development
- Open water skills development
PADI Divemasters are qualified to supervise and assist with both training and non training dive activities. In many resorts, in many exotic locations PADI Divemasters are required to assist with dive classes and guide divers. PADI Divemasters may conduct the PADI Discover Local Diving and Scuba Review programs for certified divers. They may also conduct the PADI Discover Snorkelling experience and the PADI Skin Diver course. As a PADI Divemaster it is an easy step to qualify to teach the Discover Scuba program in a pool or confined water area, Digital Underwater Photographer Specialty course and Emergency First Response course among others.
